With the arrival of the infamous Apple Airpods, it seemed like headphone designs were headed into a direction of getting smaller and less noticeable. It intertwined the futuristic approach of convenience, sleekness and mind-blowing technology. However, with the pendulum swing, we know that trends like to bounce back and forth between opposite sides of the spectrum. Apple's wired earbuds turned into trendy Beats headphones and then reverting back into minimal, smaller and wireless earbuds. Nowadays, the scene seems to prioritize the long-term comfort of over the ear headphones again, also with the convenience of signaling to the world that one does not want to socialize.
Headphones are an essential for this generation. Commitment to aesthetic has become so critical in the fashion world, and music is a great way to top off a vibe. Whether it be walking on the street or studying at a cafe, the notable noise-cancelling headphones creates a sense of mystery and introversion. Modern headphones also provide a very sleek look that compliment trendy aesthetics currently.
