    There has been a rise of looks that utilizes what is typically undergarments as modernized forms of outerwear! In the 1800s, bloomers were a type of feminine undergarments that helped women have a support of comfortable style which also enacted as symbols of liberation. Now, bloomers have resurfaced as a niche yet stylish statement which became popularized by Bella Hadid back in 2022. However, going into 2023, bloomers became a micro-trend and maximalist piece of clothing to style and pair with casual outfits!

    Going into 2024, we can see that bloomers have diversified and come in various forms fitting of various aesthetics. For instance, we have frilly/lolita styled-bloomers, cotton briefs/bloomers, and lacy bloomers.

    Seeing the micro-trend of bloomers rising from the past year, a trend that I predict we will see more of going into 2024 is the aesthetic of "Underwear As Outerwear"! We can see the assimilation of underwear being casually intwined and paired nicely with outfits. Some instances of this aesthetic can be found in certain articles of clothing and styles such as the examples provided below.
